What is a Healthshare?
A HealthShare is a membership program that allows members to share in medical expenses.
Ours includes accidents, illness, hospitalizations, and emergency room visits.
Eagle Care Health Solutions has partnered with Zion Health to bring the best HealthShare experience.
Zion Health is not an insurance program, but members share with one another major medical costs as a community.
Use of Healthshare
Members are not required to use a network of doctors or providers. Members are considered cash-pay patients with the provider which saves the community money and provides the member with the freedom to use any provider in the world.
Shareable Medical Expenses
With Zion Health, medical expenses that come up are called “needs”. Sharing is a great way to plan for the largest of medical expenses with no lifetime or annual caps on qualified medical expenses.
Initial Unshareable Amount (IUA)
The first $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 in eligible medical expenses is the member’s responsibility. The remaining eligible shareable medical expenses would be submitted to Zion Health for sharing.
The Advantages of a Health Savings Account Over Traditional Health Insurance
With a Health Savings Account (HSA), you can start saving with your financial institution for a rainy day tax-free. Health care costs can be prohibitive, but little contributions here and there over time can go a long way. You don’t have to go it alone either, with employer contributions and gifts from loved ones, you can rest easy knowing you will be cared for.
Employer contributions are typically made before issuing the paycheque so taxes aren’t incurred, but if you do make a contribution afterwards, you can get the taxed portion back on your income tax return.
There are contribution limits which can be checked with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Excess contributions will be counted as taxable income, so it’s best to keep an eye on that, to not exceed your maximum contribution.
The IRS also defines a limit on the out-of-pocket maximum (which includes copays) for the accompanying high-deductible plan. It’s possible to pair an HSA with traditional health insurance plans, but our health care coverage offers a more affordable way to get your healthcare needs met. You don’t need to pay an exorbitant health plan premium for high quality health coverage. Let the high insurance premiums of traditional health plans be a thing of the past.
With Eagle’s Pride, your out-of-pocket medical costs remain low and with $0 copays on preventative care and teledoc, you can rest easy knowing your health care dollars are being saved for other less routine health care services you may need in the future.
We offer fair market prices for our plans. We also offer the convenience of not having to go through searching for suitable HSA-qualified health plans to complement your HSA. It’s all right here in one ready-made package.
With a flexible spending account, your unused funds are carried over to the next year again and again, so there is no pressure to spend your money by the end of the year. You can accumulate those long-term savings.
You also get a debit card linked to your HSA which you can use to directly pay for your healthcare needs. And unlike credit cards, it’s deducted right when you pay so you don’t have to worry about paying later.
You are also able to invest the funds within the HSA. With Eagle’s Pride, mutual funds are an available option. The best part is any investment earnings are also tax-free. Let those mutual funds grow with you!
As long as the funds stay within the account or are used on approved medical costs, no federal income taxes will be incurred. In fact, you can receive tax-free distributions on qualified expenses. Enjoy the benefits of tax savings while you save and spend on what matters.
This plan works best for people with a longterm perspective on healthcare. You can read more about the advantages of a Healthshare on our Eagle’s Vision page, or you can look at our variety of other options to see which plan works best for you. From Direct Primary Care to Concierge Medicine to our Copay plan, and other combinations, you have many options.
